Emma Thompson Weighs in on Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Verdict

Both Depp, 59, and Heard, 36, had accused each other of domestic violence during their six-week trial, which aired live on TV and online and spurred fan-made video clips to go viral. While ruling that the actress defamed her ex with her article, the Virginia jury also ruled in her favor on one counterclaim against her ex, ordering him to pay her $2 million in damages because his lawyer called her accusations a “hoax.”

Heard first made her allegations against Depp when she filed for divorce in 2016. In a statement issued following his legal victory, he said, “Six years ago, my life, the life of my children, the lives of those closest to me, and also, the lives of the people, who for many, many years have supported and believed in my were forever changed. All in the blink of an eye.”

He said the “false” allegations “triggered an endless barrage of hateful content.” Depp continued, “It had already traveled around the world twice within a nanosecond and it had a seismic impact on my life and my career. And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled.”

Khloe Kardashian Says It’s “Uncomfortable” Seeing Paternity Suit on TV

It seems that Khloe Kardashian doesn’t enjoy rehashing the past.

On June 9, Khloe organized a live tweeting extravaganza with 30 million of her closest friends, as she worked her way through the latest episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians. It was wise of Khloe to ask for the support, as the episode featured the chaotic sequence of events that led to Khloe finding out her on-and-off boyfriend Tristan Thompson had been hit with a paternity lawsuit.

When the scene in question came, Khloe tweeted: “Rewatching this part is uncomfortable but I love and appreciate my family more than I can express. Praise the Lord I have them for the res (sic) for my life.”

Kim Kardashian received the news about Tristan while in the gym, which led to frantic phone calls with sisters Kourtney Kardashian and Kylie Jenner, all with the knowledge that the bomb hadn’t been dropped on Khloe yet.

At one point, Kylie asked, “Is Tristan the worst person on the planet?”

Seemingly while watching these moments in the episode, Khloe tweeted: “Awww my sweet Keeks in the gym scene. I love you Keeks.” She accompanied the tweet with a watery-eyed emoji.

HBO’s The Last of Us Reveals Actors From the Game Will Appear

The Last of Us is calling upon a couple old friends.

The HBO adaptation of the popular video game series has added Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson to its cast, Sony announced at Summer Game Fest on June 9.

Baker and Johnson gave voice and motion-capture performances as Joel and Ellie in 2013’s The Last of Us and 2020’s The Last of Us Part II. Baker and Johnson will not be playing their original roles, as those have been filled by Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey (you might remember Ramsey from her performance as Lyanna from Game of Thrones). HBO released the first image of the pair during the June 9 presentation.

On Twitter, showrunner Craig Mazin—who recently won two Emmys for his work on HBO’s Chernobyl—confirmed the news about Baker and Johnson having roles on the series, writing: “They sure f–king do! And boy howdy…they are both [mind-blowing].”

It is unclear who Baker and Johnson will be playing, but Sony indicated they had “major roles.”
