Britney Spears’ Dad Jamie Denies Bugging Her Room

Britney Spears‘ dad is hitting back at claims that he bugged the singer’s bedroom during her 13-year conservatorship.

The allegations first came to light in 2021’s The New York Times Presents: “Controlling Britney Spears,” in which a former member of Britney’s security team alleged that Jamie monitored the pop star’s phone and placed a listening device in her bedroom without her knowledge. At the time, Britney’s attorney Mathew Rosengart told the Times that the accusations “must be fully and aggressively investigated.”

Now, in court documents filed on June 29 and obtained by E! News on July 1, attorneys for Jamie called those allegations “salacious and false.”

“In fact, there are no documents regarding the alleged bugging or surveillance of Britney’s bedroom, and this is because it never happened,” read the filing, which also argued that Jamie’s legal team have provided documents to Britney’s attorney “showing that the assertions of Britney’s counsel regarding the so-called ‘spying operation’ have no merit.”

In a separate filing also submitted on June 29, Jamie’s lawyers said “there was never any spying of Britney’s bedroom.”

The Time Traveler’s Wife Will Not Return for a Second Season

This bit of time traveling didn’t last very long.

The Time Traveler’s Wife, starring Theo James and Rose Leslie, has been canceled by HBO after one season, according to an HBO statement obtained by TVLine.

The series, based on Audrey Niffenegger‘s 2003 novel of the same name, followed Henry (James), a man with a genetic disorder that causes him to time travel unpredictably, and his wife Clare (Leslie), who is forced to adapt to life while he’s gone.

“Though HBO will not be moving forward with a second season of The Time Traveler’s Wife, it was our privilege to partner with master storytellers Steven Moffat and [director] David Nutter,” HBO said in their statement. “We are so grateful for their passion, hard work and care for adapting this beloved book. We also thank Theo and Rose, and the rest of our brilliant cast for their heartfelt performances, which completely captivated audiences.”

When the show premiered in May, series creator Moffatt indicated that he had plans for more.

“I had a plan about how many seasons we’d do—not telling you!—and where each one would end and how far you’d take it,” he told TVLine at the time. “There is enough juice in the book for more than just one [season].”

‘Difficult decision’ S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens announces divorce from childhood sweetheart | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

S Club 7 ‘s Rachel Stevens, 44, has announced she is splitting from her husband of 13 years, Alex Bourne. The Dancing on Ice host said it had been a “difficult decision”.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Rachel wrote: “I just wanted to share with you all that after time and consideration the difficult decision has been made for Alexander and I to separate.

“While we are no longer partners in marriage, we will remain partners in parenthood to our beautiful girls and continue with love and respect for each other.

“I feel so incredibly grateful for the life we built together, and will now continue to be focused on moving forward, united as a family.”

The pair originally tied the knot back in 2009, after meeting when Rachel was just 12 years old.

They dated as teenagers before drifting apart for a few years, but then rekindled their flame later in life.

Their glamorous Mayfair wedding, hosted in London hotel Claridges, was covered by HELLO! magazine, with blushing bride Rachel looking a vision in white.

The ceremony featured ice sculptures, orchids, grand pianos and a ballroom adorned with silk.

Rachel walked down the aisle to her own S Club 7 hit ‘I’ve Never Had A Dream Come True’ – even though none of her bandmates were invited.

During an interview on Loose Women, Rachel revealed: “We were boyfriend and girlfriend when we were 12.

“We were boyfriend and girlfriend on and off during our teens until I got into the band, and he went off and did his stuff.

“Then we bumped into each other randomly in our late twenties, and at that point, I’d sworn off men, but it was really lovely to see him.

“But I was going off to LA at the time, so no, but then we reconnected. We obviously had all of that history and now, the rest is history.”

The former couple share daughters Amelie, 11, and Minnie, seven.

Rachel rose to fame in the 1990s when she starred in the chart-topping band S Club 7 with Paul Cattermole, Jo O’Meara, Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jon Lee and Tina Barrett.

But she confirmed she no longer counts her ex-bandmates as friends, revealing: “I haven’t seen any of them for so long, so no, I don’t think any of them will be there,” she said at the time.

“It’s not because I don’t want them, but because we’re not really in touch anymore. Our paths have gone in different directions.”
