Why JoJo Siwa’s “Fearless” Coming Out Journey Is Helpful to Kids

JoJo Siwa is living life loud and proud.

Back in January 2021, the YouTuber came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community, a moment that garnered headlines and sparked conversations in families about love and sexuality. To this day, JoJo is proud about sharing her truth with the world.

“I was fearless, truthfully,” JoJo exclusively shared with E! News. “When I came out, I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m gay. This is what it is.’ Then I realized how scared I should have been. But to me, I just was so okay because it was who I am. I couldn’t think twice about it.”

That honesty has quickly made JoJo a role model for many young people navigating their sexuality and identity. And with Pride Month upon us, the former Nickelodeon star is urging her fans and followers to be vocal allies for a community she is more than proud to be part of.

“The best thing is to look at somebody the way you would look at everyone and not judge,” the 19-year-old, who is dating Kylie Prew, shared. “Two girls are holding hands, great. If somebody’s transgender, great. If somebody is straight, great. If a man and a woman are getting married, great. It’s all equal and no one is greater than the other.”

Sex Pistols star says ‘monarchy means nothing to me’ as he recalls ‘stab against Queen’ | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Steve Jones, 66, was a guitarist with the Sex Pistols and was partly behind the controversial 1977 single, God Save The Queen. Originally released during the Queen’s Silver Jubilee, the song was banned by BBC and radio stations but still managed to reach number two in the UK singles chart.

The song has now been re-released to coincide with the Queen’s record-breaking 70 years on the throne.

Anti-royal lyrics in the song include comparing the UK to a “fascist regime” and saying that the Queen is “not a human being”.

Despite the impact it had at the time, Steve has now said that the monarchy “means nothing” to him at all.

The guitarist told the Independent: “I’ve never had any connection to the monarchy, to be honest.

“It meant nothing to me, still doesn’t.

“So, to me it was just a laugh, it was a giggle.

“I didn’t realise it would offend a lot of English people. They took it personally.

“It was a stab against the Queen.”

“But I kind of think that mainly, we were just speaking our mind about things, it wasn’t really a political statement.

“It was just nobody particularly wanted to be kept and put in their place by the establishment.

“And I think the reaction to it was because they were kind of afraid that people didn’t subscribe to their way of thinking.”

It comes as Disney+ released a new series, Pistol, based on Steve’s memoir, Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol.

Continuing to the aforementioned publication, Steve said the series’ director Danny Boyle “nailed it”.

He explained: “I spoke with Danny Boyle last week and some of the cast members.

“Danny’s great, he really is something else. He was passionate about the project, he wanted to do it more than anyone else.

“I think he’s great. He’s really did his homework. Nailed it.”

Pistol is available to stream on Disney+.

Orville Peck Wants Fans to “Be Who They Are” on His Bronco Tour

Congratulations! You just scored a backstage pass to the hottest tickets in town.

After COVID-19 put a pause on live entertainment, your favorite artists are ready to hit the road and entertain audiences safely with brand-new tours and experiences. And regardless of where you are, we’re offering an all-access ticket to every must-see concert of the year. Welcome to E!’s Backstage Pass.

Each night on Orville Peck‘s Bronco Tour, the show begins—as all country concerts should—with a “Yeehaw!” Then, band in tow, the masked singer sweeps onto the stage like a warm Delta breeze, bringing with him nearly two hours of rollicking hits, swoon-worthy ballads and a hearty dose of his trademark “glorious sadness.”

Since hitting the music scene in 2017, Orville has kept his identity wrapped under the tight band (and often long-flowing, accompanying fringe) of a mask. While details of his nomadic lifestyle have seeped through over the years—he was raised in South Africa, trained in ballet and classical theater and cut his teeth performing on London’s West End and at small saloons in Toronto—the real way to get to know the country star is beyond the physical: it’s through his tales of rip-roaring adventure, earth-shattering loss and almost romances from his extensive travels.

In fact, back in March 2020, Orville and his band were “around a week” into a “massive, international tour” when the coronavirus pandemic shuttered their months-long plans and led the artist to a self-described “emotional and psychological reckoning.” But, as the dust settled around him, Orville’s second album, titled Bronco, came galloping out of the haze.

UMass Amherst Lacrosse Player Aidan Kaminska Dead at 19

The University of Massachusetts Amherst is paying tribute to student-athlete Aidan Kaminska following his heartbreaking death.

The NCAA also tweeted, “We join the University of Massachusetts Amherst in mourning the loss of Aidan Kaminska.”

While a cause of death for the sophomore communications major has not been shared publicly at this time, an online obituary for Aidan notes that he “passed away unexpectedly” on the morning of Memorial Day.

“Aidan was known for his infectious smile, being a good friend, and a tremendous athlete,” the tribute to the Long Island native read. “He started playing lacrosse at a young age as part of the newly-formed lacrosse program at Port Jefferson.”

After earning accolades for both lacrosse and football in high school, Aidan went on to join UMass Amherst’s Minutemen lacrosse team. The midfielder was recently named to the Colonial Athletic Association’s All-Tournament Team.

Meghan and Harry’s royal reunion was ‘frosty’ and filled with ‘tension’, says Piers Morgan | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Piers Morgan, 57, has claimed that an insider told him Meghan Markle, 40, and Prince Harry’s, 37, reunion with the Royal Family was “pretty tense”. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to the UK on Wednesday and made their first appearance the following day to watch Trooping the Colour.

While senior royals including Prince William, Kate Middleton and Prince Charles joined the Queen on Buckingham Palace’s balcony to watch the RAF flypast, Meghan and Harry watched from a window and were not part of the carriage procession.

Speaking on his TalkTV show, Piers Morgan Uncensored, the host said that royal sources informed him that the atmosphere was “frosty”.

He adds that while other members of the Royal Family mingled in the garden following Trooping the Colour, Meghan and Harry “disappeared”.

He said: “I was told by a very good source that it was pretty tense behind the scenes.

“Apparently there was some disquiet from Palace officials that Meghan and Harry turned up apparently 15 minutes late.

“Not for the actual start of the parade but 15 minutes later than they were supposed to.

“Apparently it was all quite frosty behind the scenes.

“The rest of the family went out in the garden and were milling around, and they just disappeared.

Meghan and Harry arrived at St Paul’s Cathedral today and publicly reunited with the rest of the Royal Family for the first time in over two years.

The Duchess smiled as she walked up the stairs of the London cathedral in the company of her husband.

They arrived shortly before Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The quartet have not been seen together since the Sussexes final engagement as working royals at the Commonwealth Day service in March 2020.

Since then, the couple relocated to California and have had another child, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana.

It is understood that the Queen finally met her great-granddaughter for the first time when Meghan and Harry brought her to a special lunch.

Their three-year-old son Archie was also present, making it the first time the Queen has seen him since the Sussexes stepped down from royal duties and moved to America.

Kim Kardashian’s plea to attend Platinum Jubilee party ‘turned down’ by Buckingham Palace | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Kim Kardashian’s, 41, hopes of being a part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations have been quashed by Buckingham Palace after officials declined her request to attend Saturday’s Platinum Party at the Palace.

Representatives for The Kardashians star reportedly asked the Palace for tickets so that she could attend with her comedian boyfriend, Pete Davidson, 28.

It is understood that Kim was so desperate to acquire tickets that she said she wouldn’t mind if they are “not VIP”.

Nevertheless, Palace officials have “turned her down”, as have publicists for the BBC which will broadcast the star-studded show.

A source told MailOnline: “Kim rarely gets turned down to attend any event.

“So, this has been quite surprising, especially as she doesn’t visit the UK often.

“Kim and Pete love the Royal Family and really wanted to be a part of this special celebration.”

Express.co.uk has contacted Kim’s representatives for comment.

It is not clear whether Kim and Pete’s trip to London revolved around wanting to be a part of the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations.

Other performances will come from Alicia Keys, Nile Rodgers and Andrea Bocelli along with Duran Duran, Film hits composer Hans Zimmer, Ella Eyre, Craig David, Mabel, Elbow, George Ezra, Jax Jones, Celeste, Sigala, Britain’s Got Talent winners Diversity, and Eurovision hero Sam Ryder.

Queen’s Brian May, Roger Taylor and Adam Lambert will open the show to celebrate the monarch’s 70 years on the throne.

It marks 20 years since Brian May performed God Save The Queen on Buckingham Palace’s roof during a show marking the Golden Jubilee in 2002.

The guitarist said: “Twenty years after playing the Queen’s glorious Golden Jubilee we’re very happy to be invited again.

“Then there was a moment when I wondered… after Buckingham Palace roof, where can you go? Well… you will see.”

The show will also feature appearances from the likes of Sir David Attenborough, Emma Raducanu, David Beckham, Stephen Fry, Dame Julie Andrews, The Royal Ballet and Paralympian swimmer Ellie Simmonds.

Party at the Palace will air on BBC One tomorrow at 7.30pm.
